Elementary Years

Riverbend’s Elementary Program focuses on building strong academic foundations while helping students develop independence, confidence, creativity, and positive learning habits within an engaging and supportive learning environment.

K-4 Learning

Mornings focus on core academics including literacy, writing, and mathematics, while afternoons provide opportunities for projects, specialty classes, creativity, movement, and hands-on learning experiences throughout the week.

What learning Looks Like

Elementary students participate in a variety of  learning experiences throughout the week including art, drama, science, physical education, outdoor learning, projects, and collaborative activities. We incorporate outdoor play, exercise, mindfulness, and social/emotional awareness daily to contribute to their success in and out of the classroom.

Students participate in inquiry and project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and deeper engagement with ideas and concepts.

Students use tablets and iPads alongside paper-and-pencil work, discussion, projects, and hands-on learning activities throughout the school day. Technology is used as a tool to support learning, organization, creativity, and skill development across subject areas.
